Returned this evening from collecting my 2015 F Type R coupe. Mostly 160 miles motorway then 1 hour of Yorkshire A Roads, just extended journey for the sake of it.

I’m very forumate to have recently owned a R8 V10 manual then a 997 GT3 gen 2. The F-Type really struggles with dynamic feedback compared to the Porsche, won’t live with the R8 for traction and ability .

Yes it’s just can’t compete. Tosh! Absolutely love it. Whether motorway, town driving , fast A road, it just wants to be really brutal and naughty! Love the front end turn in, really eager, then it’s all about managing 550 bhp and rear end grip or not as the case is on damp roads.

Well done Jaguar, so much fun tuned into car. Going on 500 mile Cumbria trip this weekend. Report and photos will follow .

I’ll upload some photos tomorrow , but can report this car is interesting so to speak !!

Not ideal weekend to take to Cumbria. Ice and snow creates plenty of entertainment . On the motorway it’s a good cruiser, a bit too much wind noise.

The change of character when place into Dynamic mode is staggering. I know setting are adjustable but I love the dramatic change. Back end is very predictable but your always on edge of grip with so much power, it just wants to slide all the time .

Little feedback from steering but good weight. It’s fun just pottering about. It’s not refined but so far I love it, great fun car

What tyres are on it?

I’ve just replaced all my Pirelli’s for Michelin PS4’s - the difference is staggering.
So much more confidence in the car now.

They are Pirelli’s indeed. They are new so will have fun with them and go onto Michelin. What spec did you go with, Cup’s?

Thanks

Not Cups (that really would be asking for trouble!)
Just the standard PS4

Mine's rwd.

RWD for me too. I love the aggressive front end, loose rear of RWD in dry, it’s just that I can’t even floor the car in 3rd in straight line, damp conditions, without losing grip. But been honest, I love that too! Every drive an event and that’s a bloody good thing .

Will enjoy Pirelli was next few months and see where to go next on tyres

When I had the Pirelli’s on mine I couldn’t even floor it in rain mode in the dry laugh
