We're seriously considering buying a brand new E-Pace. I wondered if anyone had any thoughts or experience of doing this and had any useful advice on how to get a good deal?

I've had a look around for discounts off list price from the usual websites and there's not much to be gained.

Any suggestions appreciated - thanks!

Let me know how you get on, my dad is looking at the e or f pace as a replacement for a freelander 2.

Considered it as having moved from an Evoque to the current Disco Sport a couple of years ago and now seeking the next new option.

Chose the XC40 First Edition T5. Retail price is c.£10k less than the equivalent E-Pace, better spec and better looking in my wife’s opinion. Plus managed to get c.10% off list on top of the price difference.

The E-Pace is just over priced.....

Just had a good look at that XC40 and it is indeed a nice vehicle and good value. I'm still minded to go for the Jag though, although when I think of that 10% discount off list price I might go and test drive the Volvo instead.

Fell free to drop me a PM if you want to know the details of the XC40 deal I negotiated.

I drove the E Pace at the Jaguar Art of Performance tour... including some (slow!) laps of Brands...

My honest opinion is that its seems heavier and less agile than an F Pace (aluminium vs steel...) and not much cheaper at list.

Given there is likely to be greater scope for discounts on the F Pace, I'd look at one of those.

My BIL has had two (!) F Paces (both V6 petrol) and seems to be very happy with it.

Bagged one for my wife. Pick it up on Friday. For her speed and handling are not an issue but creature comforts (park assist etc) are. It's a good looking car (for a box) so I think it'll be great. I am leasing it so didn't really go through the 'what else can I get for the same amount' schtick as it seemed to offer everything she wanted. Guaranteed that she'll complain that it's too big sometime soon!

Its a car for my wife so the F-Pace although tempting is too big.

Despite my head saying go elsewhere (Volvo or something German) my heart is saying go for the Jag, so the E-Pace it will be! (Have followed head instead of heart in the past and always regretted it)

Thanks for the suggestions - much appreciated.

I-Pace is far too expensive. It has an 8 year warranty on the batteries what happens after that? What will depreciation be like on £60k-£80k+ unproven vehicle? How reliable will it be? JLR have a long history of using early adopters as guinea pigs who then have the pleasure of paying for this experience financially and emotionally.

I seriously looked at buying one. The concept is great but the risks are far too high for me at this stage in it’s development.

It’s a brand spanking new car. You won’t get a discount for about a year after launch, and longer if it proves a good seller.

Mate's just bought one, we went down to Birmingham in it yesterday, about 2 and a half hours driving each way and it didn't half drink some fuel! It's a 2.0 diesel (all I know), lovely place to be inside and I think it looks smart for a 4x4.
