Hey Wokka,
Yeah me good, been away visiting folks and doing some work so not around much. Called into RGC y'day, saw your mota with no nose on, but the colour of your newly sprayed bumper looks lush!
Hope you are back in the saddle shortly. Are you free on the 8th May? Got the XK Beaulieu meet, 40 cars in convoy so far,

Surely all personalised number plates are by their very nature smarmy and tw@t like (no doubt I could be accused of the same thing with mine), not sure why one would be so any more than another?
Gareth's current plate tells us his initials and his type of engine, this one would describe what he flies, and his type of car - what's the difference

True, but I do feel that yours Alex is fun, mine is personal to me and has a good connection, but someone with the car brand on his car would seem to be rubbing it in some what. Don't know why just as I perceive it really.
Me driving into work with 777 XKR on my plate would be met with jeers from those waitng for the shuttle bus. A bit of envy maybe, which is never good attention, trust me, it'll attract hate.
It's a sad country we live in for sure.

I think it should be nice and simple - something like "A 1".
Funnily enough, some 15 years ago, a man who was the tax adviser employed by Dunlop used to drive a Rover with that very registration number, which was owned by Dunlop.
(Strange old world, he could probably buy the whole of Rover with that regn no now).
Interestingly, the number has apparently now "disappeared". I should ask Malcolm what happened to it !!
[By the way, hope the party was good last night Wokkadriver, and sorry about the lack of a Vanquish
outside the front door ! Did try very hard !!]

When I lived in Virginia Water in the 60s one of the directors of Dunlop aslo lived there on the Wentworth Estate, his car had the A1 reg on it, I often saw it at the shops etc.

Was sold at the first DVLA auction in December 1989, it was sold for £160,000 with VAT and other charges brought the final total to nearly £200,000
