I’ve got a manual XE on order, and supposedly JLR are having quality issues with the manual box. They’ve offered an auto as a no cost option, which I’m more than happy to accept.

Anyone else in a similar boat?

Don't understand why anyone would want a manual Jag, even an XE. Take the offer of the auto box before they change their mind.

Take the auto and upgrade the engine to make sure you have a Jag with power. Just spent a day in a 25t, very nippy!

I test drove an XE manual diesel. The gearbox put me off immediately.

Don’t worry, it was accepted as soon as it was offered! I was in favour of the auto because we tested the auto (which was really good) and the manual was an unknown quantity.

I had an XE auto as a company car for 2 years and did 70k miles in it, it was very good and never let me down once, a nice smooth gearbox but then it was a ZF box.
