Lovely car, nice colour too.
My dad had one of the first XJ6's in the north of England, in January 1969, a pale blue 4.2 model, then in 1971 he bought the Daimler version, same colour as yours, both lovely cars.
The amount of attention the blue one received was incredible, everywhere he parked it, it drew a crowd, and people used to leave notes on the windscreen offering £500 over list.......It was only £2200 new. (The Daimler was £3100 new.)
It created as much interest as the new "E" type did in 1961.
Hope you enjoy it, I'm sure you'll treat her well.

Thanks, just had a good drive (as much as you can on the IOW) purrs nicely . Only thing just noticed is a two inch square of scratched front screen, back to the dealer on Monday. One thing perhaps someone may have an answer too. Why no sat nav in this model .Andy
I believe Sat Nav was an extra on pretty much every model, even the early XJR’s.ARDIOW said:
Yes I thought so to. I seem stuck in looks of the older Jags , I guess that what happens as you get close to the big six o . My lady is now hunting for a Jag convertible.
Nobody seems to make cars for Chairmen of the Board now. It's all Audio clones with black plastic interiors and no suspension. Quite horrified to see they are mostly 2.0 4-pots now. Like my Ford Sierra 30 years ago. And I bet the Sierra had a comfier ride! This week I drive a 14 year old XJ X350 Sov with a view to buying ..( I’m very close to getting this particular car). It’s done over 130k miles and pretty much had all its suspension renewed over the last year, and has a full Jag history. The ride quality and comfort puts all the modern upmarket barges to shame.

Leaper is the jaguar ornament on the bonnet and ICE is “in car entertainment “
Ah, I had wondered about the leaper, does look a bit twee, I do have the original green Jag emblem maybe time for a swap. Will look at an ICE specialist, will have to go to mainland for that . Never mind its a bit of a hassle, but we still don't want a bridge or tunnel .Last thing we need is lots of overners Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
