Anyone got an F-Pace?
Discussion
I'm in the market for a new (or ideally slightly used) car and need something with room for 4 adults and a decent boot. The F-Pace looks like a very nice place to be so wondered if anyone on here has one and what their experience has been so far.
Also, if budget allows, would the 3L petrol be the one to go for or are any of the other engines better suited? Mix of local and motorway driving totalling about 7000 pa.
Thanks
Gary

I’d get an S, just for the engine, either SDV6 or the petrol V6. Not driven an Ingenium 4 pot powered car, but thr petrol V6 goes well and sounds ok, the DV6 just whooshes around tidly.
Nice comfy car, handles well, but interior plastics/materials are a bit on the cheap side. My biggest gripe is the interior ‘grained leather’. It looks and feels awful imho, but I see that ‘Windsor’ smooth leather is now available on the ‘Portfolio’ models, so lets hope it gets rolled out to all the range. Are you listening Jaguar....
The 10.2 inch screen is the way to go...good luck. If you don’t go for a V6, look at the LR Discovery Sport. Nicer interior imho and plenty of room, handles just as well and is a better looker.

I was looking at an F Pace or a Discovery Sport just over a year ago after 18 years of Jaguar ownership. After a lot of investigation (I wanted to stay with Jaguar) I opted for the Discover Sport. A year on and I still feel it's the right decision. It was based on all round performance, price, nice feel and looks of the interior, better looker outside, all round usefulness. Only dislike is the satnav which is rubbish. I think it may have been improved now.

I don't have an F-Pace, but I do have a new XF-S and have test driven an F-Pace.
Room for 4 adults... The F-Pace is actually the same size inside as the XE, not the XF, so adult room in the back isn't brilliant. Worth checking out on a test drive if you're regularly going to carry adult passengers.
Engine... I've got the 3l supercharged petrol in my XF and it's a great engine, genuinely fast. For your mileage I'd highly recommend it over the 3l diesel. It'll also hold its value better. Currently XF-S diesels are worth nearly 10k less than the petrol ones.

Definatley get a RR Sport. My current car. Best all around vehicle, proper interior, handles beautifully. This is a Ford era derived product from LR and blows the ‘cheaper’ TATA modern JLR stuff out the water.....
Thanks. I was thinking going petrol next car but is the V6 diesel the choice for the RR Sport?Newer RRS have the 306BHP SDV6, older models have lower output SDV6. Think the change over was 2016MY? You also have the choice of the SDV8. Sounds fab, but is single turbo on each bank, as opposed to sequential twin turbo of the SDV6. (Bit older tech).
Try before you buy, but definately RRS HSE Dynamic/Autobiography over the F-Pace.

what do you want ?

Errrr, have you driven one? It almost certainly doesn't. I am amazed how well this 2tonne beast performs. Corners flat, the turn- in is superb for such a car. HSE Dynamic has Dynamic mode for the twisties.the F-PACE drives like a sports saloon

Air suspension in RRS is a big plus imho

Volvo XC40.
Wow quite a u-turn! I'm guessing reliability was a factor? In the end I felt that reliability (against the Range
Rover) and the great interior and comfort of the XC pipped it for me.
It also has a great petrol engine and really great rear leg room for a smaller SUV.
Never even factored in the Volvo until I had a test drive.

2 hour test drive in F Pace ... out down the road, back 5 mins later. Horrible wobbly barge of a car/thing. This is after the showroom model shot a weird running board out the side when the door was opened making it difficult to get it, and my wife pulled the handle off the boot space cover. Stay well clear of JLR tatthe F-PACE drives like a sports saloon
