I need a new set of rear tyres for my XFR. What's the top choices?
I'm planning on doing at least one track day but it's mostly twisty country roads I drive
Size is 285/30/20 Y

From everything I've read, the Michelin PS4 seems to be the tyre of the moment.

Thinking about them for my F Type, rather than the standard Pirellis

They seem to be quite a bit more expensive than Dunlop or Pirelli. Are they worth the extra?

Can I piggyback on the thread, please OP?

X100 XKR with the 20" Detroits and the daft (and completely ineffective) active suspension. Currently on P Zeros and I hate them. Fidgety, not very grippy at all and hopeless on the dogst roads we have in Greater Manchester.

If I want the best tyres money can buy for ordinary road use, is it MPSS (or whatever the new ones are called)?

Couldn’t say with regards to the Dunlop’s, but better than the Pirelli’s - I think so yes.
(From owners, reports etc - no personal experience on the Jag, but have on other cars)

Fellow XFR owner here, Dunlops are great day to day tyres but are no good at all when driven hard, P Zeros are better by quite a margin but I will be putting PS4s on mine when the weather improves, a mate of mine has them on his Skyline and they have been pretty good , they will wear a little quicker than the others but will give better dry weather grip and will most definitely be worthwhile on track

I have a set of Michelin PS4s all round, which once warmed up, are stickier that a sticky stick.
So much more grip than the Dunlops, less wheel spin in the wet; yet they can still loose it when provoked.

I'm really happy with mine, although they were expensive.
Thankfully i was able to save about £60 when buying them from Costco, however they are no longer running that deal.

Another vote for Michelins - I'm now running pilot super sports all round, which replaced p-zeros at the front and dunlops at the rear. Apart from all the love for michelins on the internet, I received two recommendations from real-life sources whom I consider to know what they're talking about. I'd encourage you to do your own research beyond our recommendations though!

edit - blackcircles are worth visiting when pricing up a potential purchase.

Another vote for Michelin here.

I have a set of 4x MPSS on my XFS, best tyres I have ever had on a car.

Currently have 4x Dunlop’s on my XFR, they are nowhere near as good, even accounting for the extra power. Will be moving to MPS4S in the near future.
