XKR. Should I Stick or Twist
Discussion
Well bit of a dilemma.
Bought my white XKR from Jaguar in Stockport November last year. Just had it service and MOT with Jag in Oxford and realised that I've only done just over 1500 miles in that time.
Obviously I'm not using it that much. So, what to do? Sell or keep ?
Decision Notes:
I love it. Its a great car. Looks fantastic in this colours. Its has low mileage under 20,000. Still has a Jag warranty. I don't need to sell. I have the space to keep it. Its not being used from one week to the next. OK, if I did sell a more practical vehicle would be handy from time to time.
What would you do?
I think I've done more miles walking around cleaning it than I've driven it.

The main question you have to ask is why are you not driving it? Is it just a weekend car? Do you enjoy driving it? Why not take it out for a longer Drive?
I have also brought a White one and done lots of miles in it already and use it daily if I can, it is a great drive and very under rated with a deep V8 roar with little or no Supercharger sound.
They do not make them anymore, you do not see to many white ones or many XKR's at all on the road.
I maybe biased as I have just invested in one but I would say if you can afford to keep it then do so. What else can you buy for the same power/money. Any less power now will not feel the same.

How about changing to an XFR-S?
It's quite a rare car so they're not cheap but they look stunning and with 540bhp they're not slow. It's also quite practical, there's even an estate version.
Or there's the 5 litre XJR. It may be a big car but surprisingly light and drives extremely well and goes like a furious weasel.

Its was bought as a weekend / holiday time car. I don't use it as my daily drive because I have a van for work. I'm also a bit paranoid about leaving it in certain places like public car parks.
So, this adds up to not much usage.
Anyway. Think I will walk around it again and give it a clean.

If this stops you using it for leisure at the weekend, you could try using http://www.parkmark.co.uk to ensure any car park you use is as safe as possible? You've just got to be more creative on those weekend excuses to drive it.
Pay a visit to some of those Saturday morning breakfast meets.
Most expensive full English you'll ever buy but they are so worth it.
My XKR is a 2nd car toy but still gets the odd day time use.
I always have a smile after a 2 hour drive before breakfast, talk some rubbish with like minded nutters, followed by the 2 hour return.
£9.95 breakfast and £40.00 plus of tyre shredding excitement ..... best breakfast you'll ever have

I don't want to run two cars, so the XFR-S is a great choice - not a compromise. I've also just returned from Europe having done 2500 miles. and a total on 21k in the year I've had it. Just an epic car. And with only about 150 in the country, yes they are rare, but this may hold values up - not that that is the reason I bought mine.
