Jaguar XF Insurance
Discussion
Hi All!,
First post here, so apologies if this strictly isn't the correct place to post, but couldn't find a more suitable area. Safe to say I've fallen in love with the Jaguar XF R Sport AWD 2.0d, however, I've been having difficulty finding an insurance company that would give a reasonable quote for a 20-year-old, with 2 years no claims.
I understand it's not exactly a "normal" car for a 20-year-old to be driving, but I've been saving and would love to get it!
Basically looking for any assistance/recommendations of insurance providers that may cater towards young drivers and "performance" vehicles!
Many thanks,

Good luck, genuinely good luck - I hope you do better than I've managed!
I'm 26, and have a 2011 XJ, and even with 8 years' driving, 4 years' no claims, and IAM certificate, I'm paying an eye-watering £1,200 to insure my car.
I'll bet the 2 litre is cheaper to insure, but you're younger with less driving experience, which will probably count against you, as I'm sure you're already aware...
FWIW I'm with axa, they give a 10% discount if you have a dashcam, and if you know someone with home insurance with them then they give a further discount. These criteria made them the cheapest in my situation.
Either way, top choice, and I'm glad someone else young is getting an against-the-grain car!

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies! I shall take a look at Aviva, yes cheapest from a quick look doing mock up quotes was about £2.2k. Thanks for the suggestion of looking at the lower value but faster cars,
I'm not after a fast car, just fell in love with the XF due to the looks and the comfort (being 6'5" means many cars are awkward sitting in and getting out of). I do a lot of business miles, hence comfort is important for me. I'd estimate I'd do anywhere from 4-6k business miles a year, and 2-3k social, so don't know what the specialist low mileage insurance companies are after?
Once again thanks all, will look to ask the same question in business then!

If you like the XF could you manage with one of the earlier models? The saving could help pay for the insurance!
Good idea, IMO. No idea on your budget, of course, but let's assume a 3-year-old 2.2 R-Sport (with the good body kit/wheels etc) with low mileage will surely be cheaper to purchase, but possibly not insure, than a newer 4WD 2.0? Possibly get more toys for your money, as well, if you shopped around.Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
