S type jaguar automatic gearbox capacity?

does anyone know how much oil the s type jaguar automatic gearbox holds
ive been told that it requires regular changing
i am getting a gearbox fault and light more and more often
the gear change is jerky on one changeive had it plugged in and the code that came up was P0783 three to four shift
very grateful for any assistance

Just to worry you it is an essential job. No details of your S Type do you have a pre 2002 with the Ford five speed box or the later ZF six speed? You don't get all the oil out and the ZF needs a higher level of DIY as you fill with the car level and running.

my S TYPE is a 54 plate with the six speed geabox thanks again for your interest

I've just pulled out the bill from when I had mine done on my old 6 speed, they charged for 5 litres of the stuff.

Hardly a scientific answer but hope it's a guide for you!

I'm fairly certain that it was the same for mine. I also vaguely remember it being about £40/litre for the proper Jag fluid; I found out later that this wasn't strictly necessary and fluid to the same specification was a fraction of this price from my Jag indy chap.
