So the other day my son was at a rolling road day , he messaged me and said it wasnt too busy so i thought i would go along with my 2009 xfr.
It has k+n filters and the rear boxes have been changed for sports ones but other than that its standard, so i was expecting it to make slightly more than stock power , around 510-520 bhp.
I was quite shocked when it made 564 bhp , even more surprised when i spoke to the dyno operator and he said if it was cooler (very hot summers day) it would of made 20-30 more bhp .
So very happy the car is making nearly 600bhp . They said i have got a good one haha.

Sounds like it's been remapped.

BTW, take offf thr K&Ns. They don't do the sensors any good.

Not unheard of for cars to make a little more than quoted figures. I wouldn't really expect any increase at all from air filters and very little (if any) from back boxes though. It's also far from unheard of for garages with dynos to run them with relaxed settings for RR days to drum up some business for remapping, tuning work etc.

Not many Jaguar owners have had this done though, I'd be interested to see the graphs if you have a copy and happy to share?

I dont know how i would tell if its been mapped.
Here is a print out from the second run showing 543 bhp as it was getting hot by this point.

Its extremely unlikely that its producing that sort of power without a map and / or pulley mod. i would be inclined to deduct 10% from that figure if it hasn't which would be about right. Did he give you a torque figure?

Torque figure looks right, of course the flywheel power shown is 'calculated' back from the resistance the rollers transmit to the wheels. The FW output figure can be modified to an extent to suit the environmental conditions and also what the tuner decides he wants to show your car putting out on the day!

Some of these calibration factors are listed in the box on the printout, i'm not sure what they mean in real terms but somebody else here may do.
..but what the heck, either way you have over 500 ponies of pure fun!

To be honest the roller seemed quite accurate as there was quite a lot of standard cars there and they all produced quote figures.
But at the end of the day it got enough haha.

Presumably the insurance company know about the upgrade if indeed an upgrade has been fitted? Just being cautious...wouldn't want to see a future post about post accident insurance cover being denied because of the upgrade fitted by a previous owner about which you knew nothing.

No idea if anything has been fitted , so when i sorted the insurance it says to the best of your knowledge . So in all honesty i dont know if its been mapped or pulley upgrade.
