For the last run of XKs, Jaguar dropped the Portfolio spec in favour of 'Signature' spec which, as I understand it, was fully loaded and therefore better equiped than Portfolio but around £10k cheaper.

I am assuming that a similar mileage / age Signature will now be worth more than a Portfolio despite costing a chunk less initially ? Does the used car market 4 years later care about original list ?

Presumably, buyers of Signature models have experienced far less depreciation than those of Portfolio models a few months earlier ?

I've been researching the late XKs 5.0 as they are such a fantastic car and I managed to find a brochure for the last models and yes you are sort of right. The first Portfolios where high spec with 20 inch Kalimnos wheels, 8 colours of roof on the convertible etc then they slightly de-contented it with the final 2011 lights facelift dropping wheels to 19s and making some of the roof colours optional then for the 2013 Signature they put the 20s back on. The only downside of the Signature is a reduced range of colours, now only 3 roof colours and 2 leather and fewer woods as they rationalised production.
Price wise there were massive discounts of £10k plus on Portfolios so all they did was make the discount official with the run out models but yes a Signature is going to worth a little more as its one of the last cars.
All are stunning value now at under £40k.
