Hi guys,
I had the silencers replaced with straight pipes and whilst it sounds awesome i'm (well my two young boys are) finding it too intrusive within the cabin.
I had them removed in January and it was only this weekend gone that i actually heard it from the outside when my wife took the car out - didn't actually realise it was THAT loud and she was only trundling down the road.
The real issue i am finding is the resonance occuring between 1500 & 2000rpm, i think this is what is upsetting my boys the most, and my commute means that i am sitting within the resonance zone pretty much the whole time.
I'm wondering whether exhaust wrap (the heat wrap usually installed around headers) installed tightly around the pipes and/or adding weights to the pipe to try and shift the resonance out of the rev range would help eliminate the resonance, anyone tried this?
Failing that, i think i might have to revert back to standard boxes, and possibly add electric valves for noisy time!

Ah right. In that case, I'd recommend Elite and Performance Jags, I bought their XKR back box which was a great upgrade in tone and volume but not excessively loud. You'll hear it when pressing on for sure, or on cold starts, but it's perfectly possible to go easy and not make too much racket. I have an X pipe in the mid section but no silencers there, I don't get any intrusive drone at all.

I have the Adamesh back boxes on mine - IMO works very well on the car. Gives a nice growl but without being overly obtrusive. Also, reasonably priced (though mine was already on the car when I bought it).
