Looking to replace my R8 v10 and the F type R has cropped up as a contender,,,

I appreciate its no a direct contender with the current R8 but it seems a decent car and reviews well.

Id be interested to hear real life ownership experiences.

Im also keen to guage how popular (or otherwise ) these cars are resale wise ..

Depreciation seems to be heavy but on par with similar performance cars..

Does anyone know about reliability/servicing costs

Its intended to be purely a fun car and will not be used for any daily tasks so for me fun/enjoyment are the primary considerations.

I went R8 V10 to F-TYPE R

F-TYPE R easily a better all rounder, I did 16,000 miles in it all around Europe and 5 ring trips. Loved it

Buy one for £5Xk and depreciation will be fine

I'm not in a position to buy either so am no help whatsoever, but what I can say is that two of the nicest cars I've ever heard on start up are the R8 V10 and the F Type R. Both sound truly magnificent to my ears and I'd love to have either one of them. I don't think you can make a wrong choice here!

Took an F-Type 5L for a test drive when they came out, and was impressed.
Decided to wait for three years to hopefully benefit from someone else taking a 50% depreciation hit.
Sure enough , there are several very nice looking cars here on the PH's classifieds, at 3 years old, around the 50k mark, and hopefully now that depreciation line will start tolevel out.
Having had TVR's for past 20 years, the sound track of the 5L is epic.
Hopefully there will be a purchase comming up shortly👍Interested to hear about any issues that need to be looked out for, and servicing costs etc.

As a previous r8 v10 owner I've also kept an eye on the f type. Being a tall fellow anyone shed any light on how they are comfort wise?!?!

Seems a few owners here made the jump from R8 to F Type and are happy with the move.

I have thought about going the opposite direction a few times - jumping into an R8 V10 S Tronic - would be interested in thoughts from ex owners as to why they feel the F Type is better for them??

Salsa Red was discontinued very early so it's rare
TBH, if I were to buy another today, it would be the Salsa red coupe R with ceramic brakes for £55k at Norwich Jaguar.

Amazing spec and bargain price

I tried to buy the Norwich one.....salesman was a bit crafty in that he delayed answering my enquiries and then told me it was sold after I queried why he'd not answered any of my emails etc.

Hey ho it's sold but did seem a great buy
