Just purchased the later style steering wheel for my 2011 XKR.

I believe the replacement wheel came from a 2015 XF sport R.

Anyway. Tried to fit it today without success. Seen all the treads on how to do this but its just not happening for me.

Can any one help me with this? I'm in Oxforddshire. Quite willing drive out if someone would fit it for me. Beer tokens are available

Thanks
Jon

How easy then would you rate fitting a set of aluminium paddles ?

I've done that. Bit fiddly but doable. Just one bolt per paddle, these then come away easily and one electrical connector each. Small socket wrench required.

This is it:

Cost: Steering wheel was £200 and came off a 2015 XFR. Chrome paddles £30.00 and came from a Range Rover.

Nice work, that looks great. Are the paddles made of metal or painted plastic? If they're actual metal ones then you got a bloody good deal on them.

New steering wheel looks a bit thicker than the standard one, does it feel it too?

ETA - don't suppose your old wheel was heated, was it?

I think they are metal. They are cold to the touch and the description said aluminum.

The new wheel looks a bit thicker and feels better in the hand.

Yes, the old wheel was heated.

Was that without removing the wheel from the column?
Thanks.

Can I be a cheeky nad, and ask where you sourced them from? That was a stocking deal, if I may say!

Cheers

Yes, done with the wheel in-situ. I managed it sitting in the driver's seat with the wheel in the centered position, you could maybe make life slightly easier by turning the steering wheel for better access so you can get the bolts undone.
