My air con is smelly, check with jag dealer who kindly suggested I bought a can of Forte air con treatment spray and do it myself rather than paying them!
Have bought the spray but there are no instructions. Any ideas?

i think you have to have the aircon on re circulate, on full blast , then just spray the can, inside the cabin, the stuff will find its way round the system. hope that was of some help.did it some time ago on another car and it did the trick.

I thought you take the vent off and squirt the whole lot down there.

Forte themselves have replied to my enquiry and advised:
1. Remove particle filters from re-circulation system if fitted.
2. Ensure all windows and doors are closed and start engine.
3. Switch on air conditioning system and set to lowest temperature setting.
4. Set the system to re-circulate internal air. Do not draw in external air.
5. Set controls to select face level facia vents and ensure that they are open.
6. Set the fan blower to half speed.
7. Position front passenger seat as far back as it will go.
8. Shake can of treatment well, remove cap and stand can in passenger footwell.
9. Depress trigger into lockdown position (trigger should be facing rear of vehicle).
10. Exit vehicle and close door. Allow vehicle to run and can to discharge for 10 minutes.
11. Set controls to normal setting from re-circulate and run vehicle for a further 5 minutes.
12. Turn engine off, remove and dispose of aerosol can appropriately.
13. Open doors and allow vehicle to ‘air’ for 15 minutes before driving.

Its just a bit of fungus thats built up on the evaporator inside the car, like the previous PHer said all you have to do is put the blower on full power and on recirculate and if its forte you are using(which is the best by the way)all you have to do is point it as near the evaporator as you can press down on the nozzle and it will automatically empty the whole can.
Just make sure your out of the car with all doors shut.
Sometimes more drastic action is needed where you have to spray it directly onto the evaporator by drilling a small 1/8 whole in the heater box and squirt it in!
Hope this helps.
