07 XKR Battery Replacement

Can anyone offer any advice as to how to remove the battery from an XKR - which nuts are for the retaining clamp? Do I need to remove the bar that is going from one side of the car to the other - this seems to be perfectly in the way.

with the help of a friend we moved hood so that back flap was up which gives much easier access to battery we changed battery this way but should have had jumped leads to another battery to keep power to hood as you have to keep resetting to avoid any problems

Yes, I had to remove that bar as well. From memory, the workshop manual doesn't mention it, guess that was maybe a change made in a later model year (mine is a MY2008 car).

ETA - I think the bolts for the retaining clamps were just the ones that you can see, I'll have a look later.

In case it helps, this was what mine looked like just after putting the new battery in and connecting the leads:
