I sold my Jaguar V8 S, I felt like a change and now looking back was I mad? do I miss it? - well I did a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZsFS5yq1cc which wont worry grand tour but I enjoyed making it. The car I bought to replace the F Type is a truly great sports car but my god that V8 is sadly missed. Should I buy another one, will a AWD F Type be safer ?!

Depends on the replacement. smile. Generally if you sold it because you wanted a change there was a reason for it. I drove one for a week and just loved the engine and the look of the car but felt that it did not handle as well as my normal Porsche transport. I also found it to be challenging for luggage capacity. Still , cars are subjective and if you miss it , go for it.

I think you'd be hard pushed to find a replacement for that V8. I have no doubt there is other great stuff out there but finding something with not only the effectiveness but also the immense theatre will be tough.
That said it can't be too hard to find something where the arse end doesn't light up every time you even think about looking at the throttle!

A Griffith 500 would do that, and have a V8, and be 1/3 of the price!

I bought a V8S new in May 14 and sold it in August 15. It's the only car I have missed. I bought another in Sept 16. A used one this time due to the massive depreciation on new jags. An immaculate 14 plate with 10k miles for £50k and a lovely colour/spec. I'm very happy.

I decided against the AWD because I enjoy driving a rear wheel drive V8S. It's the closest experience to the V8 Cerbera's I've owned. I haven't driven an AWD yet but suspect it will be a little bit lacking in character comparatively. The AWD model was at least £20k more expensive last autumn and therefore still subject to some serious depreciation.

V8S prices are good at the moment for buyers smile

If you didn't like the way it handled you should try the V6S. I have the awd model, almost as fast as the V8 and much better through the corners, even compaired to my Tuscan and the Cayman I had.
