Has anyone any info on the handbrake system on a 2007 XJ , alarm says " parkbrake fault " and brake will not engage. Does anyone know any Jag specialists in the Aberdeen area ?
Have you recalibrated? Find the fuse remove , replace and turn on ignition, put your foot hard on the brake pedal. The electronic handbrake should recalibrate.
I used to get this problem but only in the wet. I took my 2003 XJR to a good local auto electrician who cleaned up the electrical connections and that fixed the problem. It could be a simple fix and much, much cheaper than a new handbrake motor.
