I just can't understand the price F-types in general, and this SVR one in particular. I'd have an AMG GT all day long for that money. Or a cooking 911. Both seem far more special than the Jag. Still, people are buying them, so I'm clearly in a minority.
New F-Type prices are definitely OTT as evidenced by early depreciation. But have you driven a V8 version before comparing it to a 911 or Mercedes? Phil. said:

It used to be the case that new Jaguars were heavily discounted by the dealers (or incentivised from Jaguar themselves), so the sticker prices were always a lot more than what people actually ended up paying. Not sure if that's still the case?8bit said:

I bought a new V8S F-Type a couple of years ago for £20k less than retail. It still lost circa. £1k month before I sold it just over a year later with 4K miles or more than £30k less than the new retail price! That's why I bought second hand this time and picked up a gem for far less that the equivalent 911 or Mercedes. Hopefully SVR prices will head in the same direction. Having owned one for a couple of years, the used prices are looking gratifyingly firm.
But then, in that time I've only seen 2 other coupes on the road, so it appears supply continues to fall short of demand.
The comedy moment though comes when you use Jaguar's website to compare the value of your F as a Trade In with what they're being advertised at.
A 33% difference when I checked in August...

Only problem with them is that neither of them is as good looking.F.TYPE V6 S Convertable Fully loaded 20" carbon fiber wheels, looks stuning.
2 years later with 9000k and then the bomb shell.
The second hand prices are poor for the V6s and dropping very quickly.
I Paid £66.000 for mine, its fully loaded with all the best bits and with only 9000k, dealer tell me its not worth £45.000 this is from the Jaguar dealer bought it from.
Over priced from New, i will never buy a Jaguar again.
Ordered New Cayenne, coming soon

fk me, that a shed-load of miles! 9000K?Seriously, 9000K???
Or did you mean to type 9K?
(Or, of course, is the K for kilometres? I'm assuming not, as you've mentioned £££.)

Pretty much worth 66% of the retail price with extras after 2 years .. Sounds about right for a lot of cars.
Here's another one. £10k more and the spec appears similar to the one above which is still for sale. Is grey THE colour for SVR's?

I like this red one - a new colour?

The earlier grey one has had it's asking price dropped by £5k to £100k.

I test drove a white SVR 2017 yr model today from Guy Salmon Kingston. It was absolutely epic and surpassed my expectations. Aside from the power, smooth gear box in D & S modes, noise, presense and grip, I was astounded by how comfortable the ride was. Vs my previous VantageV8 and 997GTS, the SVR was miles better in every respect.
But, with a £113k list (50k deposit and 36 x 563pm), I agree that it's just the wrong price new and will depreciate as quick as it accelerates.
Again, just epic.
