Hi all,

The ABS light has come on right out the blue. The discs and pads were only done a about 4 months ago and have only done a thousand miles since. Any thing I should look for. I've done the usual visual checks and everything seems fine and clean.

Thanks

A common thing. My garage chap said it is often the sensors being crushed by corrosion as they are set into tight holders (this is X300).

Is it intermittent? Mine was on and off according to how damp it was - unfortunately it was the damp that caused the failure, okay all summer then zapped in the autumn rains.

It hasn't went off since it came on, and I don't think it has rained or got wet since.

Ah, perhaps not the same glitch then. The fix was new sensors - which are thin on the ground, since they fail more than other parts. Time for visit to a Jag specialist perhaps.

Good luck anyway.

This is worth taking a look at:

You need to get a code reader to give yourself a fighting chance of getting anywhere.
