Coming from an AM V8 4.7 and spent a lot of money on maintaining it I fancy a change

Two options to fill the sports car criteria f type S or the XKRS

The thing that's putting me off an F-type is that it's got a bit more to depreciate, I think I could run an XKRS for 18 months and pick up a F-type R then or buy a F-type S now and have it for 3 years which I think would be more expensive...

Another issue is that XKRS don't seem to actually be selling and in 18 months time I don't think many would pick an XKRS over an F-type R for similar money

Another option is that a get a new shape RRS for the same money which personally I think is a great car and will be cheaper than the f-type S over a 3 year period. The issue with that option is that I'll will have to stick with RRS for a while as I'm the only driver in the family and will probably have to have something practical for little ones in 4/5 years time

Any thoughts would be appreciated

The F-Type is a very hard ride, whereas the XK is more of a GT. Also, the V6S exhaust annoyed me within 2 minutes, as it's very shouty. I'm considering an XK currently to replace the XF. However, the XK will have old-tech on the touch-screen if that bothers you.

The interior technology of the XK is already very dated which would personally put me off getting 1 over an F-Type

I had the same choice to make a few months ago, chose to go the XKRS route. The XKRS put more of a mile on my face and a bit more roomy for continental touring. You still get a noisy V8 motor but its not a irritating as the F type. The trade in XKRS's seems to be steady with dealers reluctant to discount further on the sticker prices.

To start with I wasn't sure about the French racing blue but that picture makes it look pretty special... Can't see it depreciating much specially as they don't make them anymore

Is the b&w system pretty good? The standard system in the f-type I don't rate at all

Hi - thinking of a similar move from my manual DB9 (08, 09MY).
Driven both and think I prefer the XKRS.
Then I get back in the DB9 and think , 'what a sense of occasion', not sure how AM do that to you - still loved the XKRS though.......

My wife was strictly against french racing blue frownfrownfrown and the BIG rear wing - so we ended up with this (had to take the big wing off and added the Speedpack wing)

How are they XKRS to drive Vs the standard XKR? Is it worth the extra/difference in money? Apart from the styling differences (not sure I like the XKR slightly more subtle styling?) cant see a huge difference to justify the extra money.

If you don't like the noise there is a button you can press to tone it down.

Lower suspension, nicer exhaust sound, better seats, better brakes, different and better drivetrain, better rubbers, better rims, nicer steering wheel AND MORE POWER ! I prefer any day the styling looks of an XK-RS to an XKR - more carbon etc..... cool

I think it looks so much better without the big wing! Very cool!

I like the Blue, Jaguar and Aston Martin don't do a wide palet of colours-all a bit too conservative. The sound system is ok but don't have it on that much as prefer the noise of the V8

Partially in agreement with the wing looks, left mine on as part of the 'package'. Can you get the tail spoiler in carbon fibre?
As for the wifey, she chooses the colour for her car I choose mine. I think that every car has its ideal colour, the blue sets the car off nicely. I accept that I will be in the minority but thats ok with me.
Anyone for a Grff in Orange

@ macar - i don't think you will get the smaller rear wing in carbon - plastic coat it in a carbon look perhaps ?
