Re Mapping XKR
Discussion
The simplest, most cost effective method with the 4.2 XKR (X100) is to change to a smaller upper Supercharger (S/C) pulley. IIRC the 4.0 XKR could also be improved with a lower pulley, but I think the 4.2 was just the upper.
This can be combined with a freer flowing exhaust, less restrictive Cats and aftermarket air filters, which can all be combined with a remap to maximise the gains. That's about the most you can do without major work.
Moving on, you can start porting/polishing the S/C, Throttle body, Intake Manifold and Heads etc, plus install a freer flowing exhaust manifold and so on. This all costs and again you'd need to map the engine to take full advantage. Plus you'll probably (definitely) need to look at additional intake charge-cooling to keep the S/C running efficiently.
If you really want to go mental, then you can install a far more efficient S/C. The 'Roots' type Eaton on the 4.2 already runs hot, so you can't push it too much further before hitting diminishing returns. However, you can install a 'Twin-Screw' S/C which allows you to get quite impressive results, but costs (probably) more than the car and involves a lot of additional work.
Tom Lenthall has a series of advertised 'Performance Packs' which give you a rough idea of costs and what can be done: http://www.tomlenthall.co.uk/performance/tl-perfor...
(Other, well known and highly competent Jag specialist are available (Design XKR, Paramount, Paragon, Powerhouse, Racing Green, BadCat off the top of my head)).
This is off the top of my head and I have an X150 XKR, not an X100, so might have some of the details wrong, but I'm sure an X100 guru will put you right if that's the case!

Don't bother you will be disappointed , I had mine done by Paramount performance if anything the remap made it less powerfull. They also did the upper pulley all that did was cause excess pressure in the cooling circuit which blew pipes almost weekly. Just decat it and put a nice pipe on and save yourself the grief and disappointment.

Did you get any Dyno testing done before or after? Haven't heard of coolant pipes blowing either - was that because they were a bit older and harder or was there genuinely too much pressure in the system.I ask because I've not heard of that issue with Pulley swaps before.

It's very common ...some things only come to light after the event. Yes it was dyno run before and after then 2xweeks later by Paramount...it was down 30 bhp after the map iirc.I ask because I've not heard of that issue with Pulley swaps before.

Hi Guys and Girls
My first time on here .Im thinking of having my 2003 4.2 XKR re mapped to give more BHP.
Has anyone had this done and what were the results .I live in Essex and would like to have a recommendation as to who to go too.

I'd echo the above post. Have a word with Tom Lenthall. My first time on here .Im thinking of having my 2003 4.2 XKR re mapped to give more BHP.

The exhaust he fits for the 4.2XKR is superb.
I had the works done to mine - S'C pulley, K&N filters, remap, rear box. It's superb, and sounds quite frankly epic. It's not noisy unless you put your foot down so fine on a constant cruise.

What did Paramount say?
When I went back to weeks later it was to have the exhaust and sports cats fitted....I think they said the ecu learns as time goes on we replaced plugs and coil packs ...the exhaust transformed things...then the valley pipes blew and so the crap started.Busterbulldog said:
