I did say I would feedback on my front tyres as they got wear on them.
They are not as good as the Toyo Proxes TR1 tyres Ihad previously, they hum, but apart from this they are reasonably OK grip wise but I still don't feel the complete confidence I had with the Toyo's.

how do they compare price wise with the previous Toyo's? I'm looking to replace 2 of the tyres on my x308 in the next couple of weeks and am looking for what works well on them.

Interesting. Never tried Toyos but I've just about finished off the rears on a set of Ultrac Sessantas on my X150 XKR and I've been very happy with them. Wet grip isn't bad, they resist aquaplaning excellently but caution is still required, dry grip I'd say is superb, they even coped well at a track day.

I do find they are very sensitive to pressures though, even a PSI out either way makes a significant difference to grip and feedback.

ETA - You'll struggle to get the Sessantas now, they've been replaced by the Ultrac Vorti. We have those on my wife's Mercedes M-Class, different sort of vehicle obviously but they've worked well on that car.

I had to go to Vortis last time as the Sesssantas werent available in 20" . This is an X350 and I was only lukewarm on the sessantas as I wasnt too keen on the lateral grip - progressive to a point but with a sharp drop off when pushed hard. Also wet performance was less than stunning. Vortis I found were a step down so a bit worse all round.

Of course this is on 20" Rims , very different to the higher sidewall 18's .

Im now on Conti Sport Contact 2's (not the 5's which I have heard bad things about) and find them better all round than the Vredesteins. But then they are a lot more expensive!

I think the Proxes were the more expensive tyres, but they just felt right in every department. Next purchase is Proxes again
