Greeting chaps,

Looking to move on from my much loved 911, but fancy a rag top and something a little different this time.

Budget was 45k, but seems to have stretched a little as these things tend to do.

My heart has already won out in V8 vs V6, but now the head has come into play again with the colour v price thing...

Now clearly the second car makes the better buy here 1k more but only 16k miles, 2014 vs 40k miles, 2013 - or am I missing something on the spec? Both Jag dealers with a 2 year warrantee. I do around 12k miles a year, so will be putting some miles on it... tend to keep them for about 3 years.

But ... I love that Orange/Black combo.

PH, your thoughts please. smile

Well i'm with you on the orange / black wheels combo.

But with those 40K miles maybe not....but must say the colour and wheel combo of the latter younger car with less miles doesn't catch my eye...choices choices eh!

I would wait for an orange / black car with less miles. Not a fan of the color and wheels combo of the other car

The Firesand is my absolute favourite colour for the F Type and the black wheels just look great on it. I would wait for one to come up with less miles if I was in your position. I'm not sure how popular that colour is with everyone else, there seem to be far more white, black and red ones around. I guess people like to play safe when spending £80k+ on a new car!

There's a firesand V8 for sale in the PH adverts for £48K, it's a private sale though

Given the price of the better specced, 7000 mile Italian Racing Red one also advertised is only £1,000 I'd point that one out to the firesand owener and aim to get theres for say £46K?

Just curious, did you end up buying the firesand high mileage car? It's just that I noticed it has now disappeared off auto trader.

As it happens I'm in a virtually identical situation, recently sold my Aston Martin roadster with the intention of replacing it with an F-type and have decided that an early V8 is the car I'm looking for with a £45k budget.

you'll get a poor spec or high mileage one for that currently

some people prefer paying a bit more for a bit more

Just noticed there's a Jag approved used one come up today 2013 V8S 30k miles for just under 43k pounds. Possibly of interest to someone. Only a little more than I recently paid for my V6S! frown

Not true, I ended up buying one on Thursday, as it happens it was one of the lowest mileage V8S I've seen advertised and yet was very close to being fully loaded. I must admit I thought it was too good to be true but genuinely was/is a totally immaculate one owner car that has been garage from day one.
I must admit I didn't think I would get such a good car for the money, but it does prove that if you're careful and keep looking everyday you do at least and a chance of getting what you want.

Do you have a link to the classified for your new car? If not could you share the spec and price as I'm after a full loaded, low mileage 2013 V8 convertible and would appreciate the guidance on what I should be looking to pay?

thanks
