Further to my power steering pump letting go on 31 December 2004, finally got the beloved XJR back. It has a second hand PS pump until Jaguar can supply a new one, hopefully April (!!!???) Anyway, Jaguar have been fantastic about the whole thing, The car was delivered back to me, cleaned, and having been kept inside for the duration (looking at the state of the Zymol I had on it) But, the most important revelation is................what a FANTASTIC car the XJR is! Having appreciated the sophistication of the new aluminium XJ6 courtesy car, the XJR is a class above in terms of appearance, style, grace, interior quality, visibility, gear box, and just abject specialness . The V8 XJR has got to be the ultimate performance saloon bargin of the late twentieth century.

Nope, still after an XKR or a 996 (shamed to admit I'm having a Porsche day today). So, with great sadness, the XJR has to go. Would make a great car for someone (shameless plug)

Just had a wander past Stratstones of Mayfair, XKR convertible, midnight / ivory, carbon trim, 20" Sepang alloys, just to get some perspective.
