No more Jaguar estate cars
Discussion
It's a real shame especially as I see loads of BMW and Audi estate cars out and about but there you go:

I don't want to turn this into an SUV bashing thread as the F Pace is a good looking car but Jaguar fail to understand that many people need a long boot for various things and SUVs tend to achieve their boot volume by greater height but poor depth. Anyway the new A6 should be out next year and in quattro trim will show Jaguar what it could have done with an AWD XF estate.
PS What I don't understand is that the donor car (XF saloon) exists and it can't be stupidly expensive to change the body B pillar back?

The f pace is a no brainer sales win. Estates are out of vogue which Is a shame as the sportbtake looks stunning, I wont imagine this news firming up prices for used jag estates
I think there is room for both in the market but yes, agreed I think the F Pace will sell more. I'm still very pleased with mine. Purchased at the end of August last year with 8,700 miles on the clock, now sitting on 27,500!
Not the best angle but at least it's clean for a change
This is a shame, however, Jag is making it up to us by bringing back the straight 6!

Can you picture a straight 6, Manual transmission F-Type! I may have to make some room in my garage to have one join my E-Type.

Well I sat in an F Pace today and the driving position/quality etc is great and the looks are very appealing. Unfortunately the boot volume does come from height rather than length so it rules the car out for me - no ability to carry long objects and back seat passengers. I mentioned this to the salesman and that I would prefer a new shape XF estate. Judging by his reaction I clearly was not been the first person to say this.
I hope that the F Pace sells well as it is probably the best car in it's (s)Pace but it won't be in my garage.

I had a discussion with Ian Callum on twitter and he wouldn't confirm or deny regarding the XF Sportbrake - company policy not to discuss future products, which is fair enough that he has to toe the line.
What annoys me about such a company policy is that if I wanted a BMW/Audi/Mercedes estate there would never be any doubt about the availability of one each time a new model is launched. Instead, I'm left wondering whether there will be an opportunity to do an early deal with my current Sportbrake, whether I'll have to see the lease out to the end but the car will be worth a premium as there is no replacement, and whether I'll need to look at another brand or find the extra 10k necessary for a like-for-like spec F-Pace.
I'm not in any rush as I love my Sportbrake, but it would be nice to have a bit of confidence in what options lie ahead. I imagine that would help build what they call brand loyalty...

LOL (good news but speed it up please and get a move on with the new petrol engines):
