what are the lights either side of the millage on an s-type?

I've been looking at some S-types and sometimes i see an orange or red capsule shaped light either side of the milage display. What do they mean? Is it something wrong?

Warning indicator lamps, any door open, red light comes on and tells you (in the mileage box) what door it is. Boot, same, coolant low, same, yellow comes on and goes off with when ignition fires up. There are probably many more but haven't come across them yet.

After start up, no lights then all is in order.
