I am needing a full set of boots for the summer.

I have always wanted a set of Avon tyres - any reason why not for this 140mph car?

If not what is best recommendation then please?

Cheers,

Following advice I was given, my S Type R wears Goodyear Eagle F1's. Not an Xjr of course but similar performance demands and I can't fault them. We also fitted a set to the office 335 Beemer and they transformed that.

I've got Michelin PSS on mine and they are very good, if a little noisy.

I had a similar dilemma with my XJR a few years back. The recommended Dunlops were stupid money so i went for Avon ZZ5's for around 60% of the cost. I felt no difference in grip, wet or dry and behaved itself around the Nurburgring.
I now have Avons on the front of my XKR and the only reason i replaced the rears with Dunlops was a BOGOF deal on Black Circles.
