Have you tried a spare key? Transponders sometimes give up. Will it come out of park with ignition on and foot on brake? If so, then moving lever to different positions in j gate and back to P or N might change things. Other thing to try, lock and unlock car with remote and try again. Otherwise it's a code reader.

Hi, so far I have tried both keys, taken off battery, charged etc, locked unlocked with remote, moved gear-stick up and down and wiggled as much as I can, key powers up dashbaord and all lights on but still same result with no crank, if its the code reader as you suggest how do I fix?

Thanks

Oh, sorry, I should explain, by 'code reader' I meant that a code reader would have to be plugged into the diagnostics port (OBD) which is on the left of the steering column near where your left shin would be. Some error codes should then show up to give at least a clue where the fault might lie. Do you know of anyone with a reader in your area without resorting to a Jag dealer?
If you happen to be a member of the JEC, then there is a wealth of info on their forum which might point you in the right direction.

When the ignition is on is there a red lamp flashing on the gear selector or the top of the dash (can't quite remember the location) a blinking lamp is informing you the cars immobiliser is still on and the car does not recognise the key.

That's a good thing.

All signals are there for it to crank.

Wiring to starter to check now.
