I think I have hit the 700 HP mark with my XKR today, here are my latest dyno results:

And there is even still some room for more, but for now I will 1st enjoy it before it may breaks ;-)

Hopefully those dips in the second graph are gear shifts?

I assume so

The torque curves would be interesting to see. The power curve is calculated from there, so it would be easy to work back to it.

Has anyone done any big tuning on the 5L engine?
Not that I've ever really felt that my XKR needs any more poke.

The dips in the charts from the 5.0 XKR-S where indeed gear changes. We just quickly added it to have a reference in power level.

I've never felt the need with my XFR-S, given that it's completely traction limited with the stock 542bhp up to any legal speed. I can't remember the last time I had the accelerator all the way to the carpet.

700hp Is indeed a lot, but most of the fun is in the massive torque (flat line basically), and with my car that has longer gearing (MB 5 speed) I can enjoy fast acceleration without the help of down shifting that the later cars do, as that increases only the chances for wheel spin.
I actually drive most of the time with the gearbox in normal mode, wafting my way higher speeds ;-).

I wonder whether you are better off with the MB 5sp box which is incredibly strong, MB used it on the McLaren car because that was too torquey for their newer box. I wonder what the limits are on the newer ZF boxes.

The MB one is indeed very good, but the 6HP26 isn't to be underestimated as well, there are already 500rwhp 4.2 Jaguars running, and in the states this gearbox sees very high power levels from other brands. You can upgrade some clutches if you want 600+ rwhp for the 6hp26.
