Hi

Just had a very strange situation.

Bought the car back in October, and almost straight away I swapped the dipped beam lamps for Osram H7 'Night Breaker unlimited' (12v 55w)

Instant improvement over the standard lamps.

No problems between then and last night.

Drove home from in-laws on boxing day in the dark, both headlights working (dark lanes, I think I would have noticed had just one failed)

This from memory was the last time the lights were needed, always on auto, so may have come on at sometime, but no 'night driving' where they were needed.

Last night went to go out in the dark and the headlamps wouldn't work.

Checked manual this morning to locate the fuse (natural presumption as I though it unlikely that 2 lamps would fail simultaneously?)to find that there is no head light fuse?

Just been and bought a replacement set of Night Breakers, took the headlamps out to find both lamps had blown! Lamps replaced and work fine.

Has anyone else experienced such a short lamp life, and for both to go at the same time?

My wife drives an S Type which was fitted with Night Breakers over 2 years ago, and we have had no issues.

It's unlikely but possible both could have blown at the same time if you have for example a surge or something.

I've had that on my 2008 XF once but it has been ok since. I've seen threads on other Jag forums about premature headlight bulb failure with the XF don't think a cause has been identified.
