Has anyone here fitted the prokit to an xf? I have a 3.0d S and am tempted to do so as a means to reducing body roll a little. I'm concerned, however, that it will ruin the ride. Paramount assure me it won't but then they sell the springs... Any experiences??

Hmm... obviously not a very popular modification. Well I'm going to go for it. I'll report back on the results, in case anyone is interested.

Surely you would want to upgrade the antil roll bars if you are looking to reduce body roll....

No doubt this would be more effective, yes. Both eibach and paramount claim the springs will reduce body roll so I guess I'll start with that. The sportier ride height is another attraction...

Hopefully the new springs won't ruin the ride comfort as a consequence....

I can't imagine why anyone would want to ruin the ride/handling qualities of a Jaguar by fitting harder springs (with no compensating damping adjustment). If you wanted something less compliant and poorer handling, then you should have bought something German to start with...

Reads well but do you have any experience of this mod to back it up?? I've lowered cars on eibachs before and both ride and handling have benefitted (mk2 fRS for instance). Just not sure the XF would respond the same way. Paramount say yes and have done several. Unfortunately, no one reading this who can tell me about it. And poorer handling? Come on, a diesel XF isn't built with handling as a priority so it is more than possible to improve it,

With matched springs and dampers, yes, ride can be traded for handling. See XFR-S for instructions.

Eibach make springs for hundreds of cars. Do you think they actually road test and develop their springs, or just pick a thicker wire gauge and wind new springs to match the important dimensions of the OE set they copy?

With stiffer springs on original dampers (which are going to be part worn anyway) it's more likely than not you'll make the car worse riding, offer less predictable handling and less grip (but you will get slightly less body roll). If that's success to you then crack on - but it's not a popular mod for a good reason.

The XKR (X100) suffered badly from body roll. We originally looked at having stiffer anti roll bars made then we were asked to fit a set of Powerflex bushes to a customers car. On the drive back to deliver the car to the customer Kevin decided that the bushes had done the job and ditched the idea of stiffer AR bars.
