Another flaky moment for the Jag.

Few days ago, neighbour came to the door to say the car was sitting flashing it's hazard lights.
Wouldn't turn them off by pressing the dash button, had to start car, turn it back off and restart it before the lights would stop and the button would work.

Checked the battery area again to find it was wet, the wiring in that area is wet and the boot well has half an inch of water sitting in it.

Have removed the spare wheel, tool kit and the black molding that holds the wheel, dried the well out and the battery area. Fitted a new battery as well as the old was 5 years old and showing low charge.

Has anyone had or heard of this before?
It's going to a Jag specialist on Monday for a service and a check over, but would like to have an idea of what's causing the water leak and possible hazard light issue.

Car is a 2010 model.
