Need a new set of tyres for my 2000 XJ8. Its only done 24000 miles and they are the original tyres i believe. Currently on Pirelli P6000, size 235 50 R17. However I cant find any tyres of that size in any make. My local tyre fitters, Chemix tell me the Pirelli ones are on back order with no known date for more and blackcircles.com dont list any tyres in that size either.

Any suggestions what tyres I should consider?

The P6000 tyres are no longer being made, which is a pain. The P7 isn't as nice and quiet, although it probably works better in terms of grip on cold wet mornings.

Mine is an X300 rather than an X308 and uses 225/55 VR16, so smaller wheels than yours.

A quick glance at the black circles website (useful as a quick way of looking up tyre choice) shows lots of choice in your original 235/50R17. I wouldn't change the size, keep with the standard size.
