Just found out after paying £15 for a classic car valuation that I am to pay £17 a year for as long as I hold the policy. That's £83 over a 5 year period !! It is in the small print so buyer beware !

Lancastrian? I've heard that some insurers have introduced this fee, but most don't.

So, when I go to the NEC (they're the main sponsor of the Classic Motor Show) later this morning, I will tell them why I won't be insuring with them anytime soon. wink

Do they have to notify you of these extras, why not just add 17 quid to your renewal and you'd probably pay it and be none the wiser? Not sure how much your car is valued at but I have 2 classics one with a £25K agreed price and pay £180 a year.
