What did I see...!?!

Evening all, just wondered if anyone could help - this morning me & my eldest were descending Fish Hill on the A 44 in Worcestershire, when I spied a lovely plum red Jaguar XJ travelling the other way. Not unusual you may think, except it was closely followed by another 4 identical cars, same colour, all 64 reg! A couple of pleb mobiles followed, then a white XJ, then a black XJ! Think they were V6 diesels, but too shocked & busy driving to check. Any idea what was going on? Many thanks, Mark

No: didn't seem to be as dressed up as the V8s, though. That help at all?
