Looking for an STR

Hello all,

I'm on the hunt for a facelift STR for about £7k. Used to have a 2003 STR. Is there much difference in the driving experience between the two?

Do I need to be looking closely at the same problem areas on the facelift car? Lurch on ZF box etc? Guessing rust is less of an issue here though?

One other question, my old one had some custom exhaust on it and sounded brilliant. I used to also have an E39 M5, where the 'muffler delete' was popular mod on them. Is the same a good option on the STR, anyone done it? Sounds mad but noise for me is one of the most important attributes in a car. You can't really beat that unique Jaguar V8 growl and supercharger whine.

I appreciate this is a late reply but sports exhausts are popular on STRs to release that sound you talk about. There are various makes, check you tube for examples.
