Jaguar or Daimler series 3 (V12)
Discussion
I've got the relevant brochures somewhere. My uncle had a Daimler Double Six VDP back in period and I inherited some of the paperwork. Sadly he didn't know of my interest and sold the car without me knowing. I'll see if I can find them, but that area of my house is in the midst of a re-org so I'm not sure how easily I'll be able to lay my hands on them at the moment.
Oh and by the way, Jaguar's are fitted with V12s whilst Daimlers are fitted with Double Sixes.

It varies depending on the year. Mechanically the same. Seats generally have different flutes in the leather, VDP Daimlers generally had individual rear seats. Differences were cosmetic, bonnet strips, but discontinued after a while, bodyside strips on some years, different hubcaps or alloys.
When Jaguar model became the Sovereign, it was very similarly trimmed to the Daimler, which, IIRC, was then discontinued in UK market.
The later the car, the better trimmed/equipped.
A good 'anorak's' source book is 'The Original XJ6' , or similar.

The Daimler version has a better trim level than its Jaguar equivalent, but mechanically they are identical.
The earlier Series III was sold in three models - the Jaguar XJ6/XJ12, the Daimler Sovereign with a fluted grill, chrome strips down the cars; flanks, different hubcaps. Inside it had similar leather seats to the XJ6, but much more equipment and wood veneer on the doors IIRC. The range was topped by the Daimler Vanden Plas and Daimler Double six Vanden plas, both of which had individualised rear seats.
When the company left BL, the range was changed. The XJ6 continued, the Jaguar Sovereign replaced the Daimler Sovereign - this continued with the same leather seat design as the XJ6, but added loads of standard equipment such as Pepper pot alloys, air conditioning, metallic paint, automatic transmission - all of which was extra on the XJ6. The jaguar Sovereign was similar to the Daimler sovereign it replaced, but used the Jaguar grille and did not get the chromed side strips.
The Daimler name continued, but from this point all Daimlers had a Vanden plas interior with the individualised rear seats and huge equipment levels. Six cylinder cars were badged simply as a Daimler, whilst the V12 was badged Daimler Double six - it lost the Vanden plas designation.
