Hello - does anyone know if there is a "tourist lever" for the outer xenons on the X358? It's a 2008 model if that makes any difference, XJR, with xenon outers and halogen inners. Some Jags have a lever to avoid blinding oncoming drivers when driving in Europe, and some don't, and some apparently have flat beams that don't require adjustment.

I called Jag, they said there is one and that a dealer should do it. I called my local dealer and they said do it myself, and gave a quick description of how to do it (remove top cover, remove housing cover on outer lamps and it's in there). However I spent about 2 hours today trying to find the thing and cannot. Tried calling back the dealer this afternoon but the servicing dept closed at 1pm, and I'm leaving on Monday.

Anyone know if it exists? It's driving me mad! If it exists, I'd rather use it than stick deflectors on the lenses. Also I noticed there are 3 housing covers on each side, one for the xenon & indicator, one for the halogen & sidelights, and one in the middle that twists off but there's not enough clearance to remove it. What's it for?

thanks!

(edited to add: yes I did read the manual, nothing mentioned in there, helpfully)

Not much help, I found this with google:

Also, when driving on the continent (wrong side of the road ) you have to move a lever inside the light unit that flips a shield down inside that alters the light pattern (like the stick-on lamp pattern adapters) and it's a total PITA, requiring the lamp unit to be taken out!

Try asking the question on this forum http://www.jaguarforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32

Thanks, and in case it helps anyone else that finds this via google, in the end I found out that it's not just model (or model year) specific, it varies from car to car. So I contacted Jag with my VIN, and they told me that my car has a flat beam, therefore no levers as no need to adjust. Wish I'd found that out before I went rather than after, but there we are!
