Buyers guide?

Is there a buyers guide or list of pros and cons for used Jaguars/Daimlers?
I'm contemplating either a big ol' V12 or straight 6 of some description (not interested in V8s).
Something comfy to convey myself to work in not some little style. Don't fancy X-types, definitely no Rs. No silly big rims either. Refined comfort and smoothness...
Maybe an XJ6, XJ12, XJS(?)
