Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever had a snapped upper..
Discussion
I've changed one for that.
It was a 2000 or 2001 MY and was only about 5 years old at the time.
The bushes had completely siezed so the arm was bending as the suspention went up and down, and eventually it snapped.
Customer reported knocking noise, car supprisingly drove ok apart from the noise.
Was hard to spot too as the parts touched each other you couldnt see break until you bounced it.
While you're there check the front subframe vee mounts, they litterally turn to dust (white ally corrosion)

You beat me to it TT. It was a 2000 or 2001 MY and was only about 5 years old at the time.

And then there's the top wishbone fulcrum bolt made of plain high tensile, not plated or painted and fitted bone dry in the factory into an alloy subframe. Have Jaguar never heard of electrolysis? I actually ended up having to replace the whole subframe on one. It came in for a "simple" upper wishbone bush replacement. It was welded into place with corrosion. Absolutely awful design and build quality.
