I was in that same position myself, but having done my home work I finally came to the conclusion that a XKR is (more than likely) to be 1. more reliable used as a day to day car. 2. servicing and other costs half the money. 3. still offers nearly the same drive. 4. it has more toys in cockpit
I went from Griff to Cerb to XKR, and, to be honest, had the most fun in the Griff. However, I couldn't honestly say which way I would go if I was shown the keys to the Jag and the cerb and told I could only have one - tough call. I guess I can give you an honest answer in 3 years!
ps, if a male driver has a cockpit, does that mean a female driver has a box office?

Not the same performance etc, but I had an XK8 Convertible and was very disappointed by it.
Looks and acceleration were ok and comfort was good too but feedback from the road was very poor and I think that the first time you felt a problem would be when you get out to look at the damage.

Thanks for the replies. Was interesting reading the TVR to Jag thread also!
It's a tough call. I've wanted a Cerbera for years now but having shelled out a small fortune on my TVR and Vauxhall Omega over the last couple of months I beginning to think the sensible option would be swap them both in for the Jag. Touble is I've had TVR's for the past 12 years
Will be fun doing the test drives though!

Instead of getting a Cerb, I today bought a XKR.
She's silver, with charcoal/sports interior, sat nav, and all toys
Congratulations! You have chosen well. I have always wanted a TVR, and part of me still craves for one. But, with every drive of a TVR and every read of their forum I come to the conclusion that an 'R' type Jaguar is a much better proposition........................with one reservation, why can't my 370bhp Jaguar sound like a TVR???!!!

Come along on Friday and you'll hear Jags sounding like Spitfires, not those coarse Trev's!!!

mmmmmm have been thinking about a performance exhaust for some time (if I ever get my car back!) The sound sample on Paramount's website - is that a full engine tuning job or just an exhaust? I don't feel the need for any more power, but I NEED some proper sounds. Anyone on here from Paramount, or had a sports exhaust done?

I had a Paramount "grand prix" full system fitted last year, much the same as you can hear on their website. I like the sound, but if i used the car as a daily driver, I would get tired of it quickly

John, I see from your website that you replaced the tail lights with the 'Jewel effect' lights. How much did it cost you our of interest. Looked like you might have shed a few pounds off the ole girl witht eh amount of metal you chopped off her!
The new lights are quite cheap at less than £150 a pair, the mounting panels are a rip off at over £70.
But I sold the old lights for £70, so only £150 so far. Still have to get the interior bulb cover trim pieces though.
