Anybody around tomorrow night?

Iain

Membership No. 5 (Wouldn't a subtle red 5 sticker on BRG look cool next to the XJR badge?)

Careful, people may get the wrong idea!

Yeh, I'm up for tomorrow with a pint and a few cokes.

Note to self: Highly polished sloping surfaces do not make good resting points for glasses.

The Type R club

Oi!!! Jag's aren't "Type R"s:- "XJR", "XKR" - look, no "type", not even a hyphen.

Honda's (and maybe RX7s) are "Type R"s.

If you don't sort it out, I'll get the union onto you for demarkation infringements!!!

[No prizes for guessing which Cov manufacturer I work for...]

Hi Guys,

Laurieb has just given me the heads up ! Can't read this while I'm at work of course !!

However, in his absence, we will need an S-Type R on parade - so I will bring one with proper quadpipe exhausts. Should reach Elestead Mill by 1800-1830.

Where's Wokkadriver ? Are you coming ?

Next Tuesday would be ideal for me, otherwise Mon, Wed or Thu I could also do.

I don't want to mes anyone else around... it may be easier to stick to the same night of the week each time. Then if people can't make it, they just go to the next one?

BTW - as mentioned last week, I have started organising occasional PH meets around the Orpington/Bromley/Sevenoaks area if any of you guys fancy it. Here is the link to the next one...

Should be well up for the 28th. Sadly, I have been working hard (dispelling myths of an easy life) trying to get a broken helicopter back from Gibraltar. It's still there, as we speak... Damned Spanish diplomatic clearances, grumble, grumble, etc, etc.

Just ignore them and fly home

Oh, I guess you gotta cross Spain though to refuel etc. Maybe better wait for the rubber stamp! Are you sunning yourself down in Gib as we speak?

Would have been, but for a nasty bout of 'flu on Wed and Thu , completely writing off my chances of flying down at 0400 on Friday am in the back of a Herc. (probably one of Chas's cast offs, anyway!) To compensate, I have had the joys of a day on the desk as duty authoriser today , and 2 days on the Human Factors course towards the end of the week. Joy of joys. Ah well, a little bit of nightflying on the cards tomorrow will cheer me up after a grilling from the RAF feds over a low flying complaint. Fly for BA and miss all this? You must be joking...!

I thought the whole point was too fly low. I bet its those same oiks who live next to airports and complain about runway expansion at Heathrow and Gatwick. When asked which airport they use for travel, say we use Gatwick, its sooooo convienent!! WTF?!!

The R Club is heading for an Oscar or an Emmy or a whatever - for getting to be the most interesting Forum !

And Wokkadriver has clearly mastered the art of Smiley insertion ! But what would you expect from someone who can keep one of those "shnook" thingies in the air ! Completely against the laws of physics, let alone aerodynamics, if you ask me.

On the 007 membership number front, suggest it gets reserved for whoever ultimately joins with a Jaguar that's been in a Bond film - (or looks like one that has been).

I'm planning on being at Elstead Mill on Friday this week and expect to have attracted some other new members to be there as well.

Should also have news about a potential track day in May as well.
