XK8 Problem, any help

Just got my first XK8,2000 car runs perfectly only sometime when I start a run I get an amber warning light up and the green restricted performance message showing up. This lasts for about a minute then it clears and the rest of the trip is OK. While this restricted message is up the car drives perfectly. Is this a common fault on these cars or is it the ECU re-booting itself its just a bit of a worry or is it nothink to be consirned about any advice most welcome,
Two possible causes that are worth a look and won't cost anything. Either a weak battery, or if you have cruise control a dirty contact in the brake light switch.
Charge the battery for 24h and spray a shot of WD40 into the switch assembly - that's the white rectangular box mounted close by the shaft of the brake pedal. Run for a while with the cruise master switch turned off and then for a while with it on and see what happens.
