While watching Chris Harris on cars, something sundernly dawned on me, is it pure coincidence there's 5 V8 engined CX-75 in the latest Bond movie as well as the fact that jaguar has developed a dry sump V8 for the bloodhound 1000mph car.

This of course can just be pure fantacy but as an admirer of the jaguar brand I'd just love to see the Cx75 become a reality for sensible money, I'd love to see Jaguar in the super car segment again.

Am I alone?

They're in the middle of a multiple product launch, XE, XF, F-Pace. Then there's a reworked XJ, and whatever the XK will be. I doubt they have the time or money to do a supercar, but it would be nice.

The problem that they face these days is that you can't really take a Le Man's winner, pop a luggage rack on the back and tinker with a couple of other bits and then get permission to take it on the road. The authorities have quite lost their sense of humour about these things.

Completely agree and understand jaguars got there hands full with all the above model but on the flip side a lot of the development for the cx75 was done with the hybrid set up I know but with SVO department, development for spectre V8 spec cars, bloodhound dry sump V8 configuration and the years of development before hand I think there is a strong business case

Well a strong case in mind anyway...

I would love to see it make production, but you never know what else may be going on in the Jag skunkworks...

Would the dry sump V8 allow them to drop the engine lower in the tweaked F-Types giving a lower centre of gravity and improve handling?
I know the original dry sump XK was done to combat the oil surge problems that the the disc brakes were giving them, but lowering the engine helped other things too.

IMHO Jag are keeping the CX-75 in the limelight even though it has been binned for a reason.......hopefully it will be re-engined and tweaked with a push-to-pass electric mode.
