Hi all, new to jag ownership with a 06 xkr and I know of a 2012 black grill and vents that are available, not bothered about the vents but would the main grill fit in the nose cone? The grill is black and Sonia the car so I thought it would look good.
Thanks
Rob
You call your car Sonia?Thanks
Rob

Sonia is supposed to say so is, wouldn't name a car I'm not a girl!
What's that got to do with anything? My X300 is Jessica and the XK150 is Jayne. For some reason the X150 doesn't seem to have have got a name yet. Having to keep refering to it as "The XKR" or "The newer one" or stuff like that is just far too much of a mouthful. Nah, names are just easier.
My XKR is Penelope.
OK, OK. ETA - they should fit so long as they're from a pre-facelift car, i.e. the same shape headlights as your car, not the slimmer ones from later XKs. Adamesh sell aftermarket upper and lower grilles for XKs up to 2012, if you want to be sure.

Well so far, I've found out that the black grilles as fitted to some later 4.2 XKR-S cars can be had but they're around £200 each. The Adamesh ones come to £270 for the pair, see the links I posted above.
Other than that, there is the option as you suggest of painting or dipping the existing ones. To do this properly and cleanly you'd really want to take them off the car. I have a thread on the XKEC forum just now and some helpful soul pointed out that if I fit black grilles to a black car than any light-coloured items behind the grille will become more visible, such as the horns etc. so I'll probably want to do that while the bumper is off.
