Got a pair of needles for an XK150 from them last week. 24 hour delivery, and very helpful.

I've got a spiral-bound SU parts manual in the loft, can get that down to see if there's anything of interest for you. My main SU interest was mini (a-series) engines. What you've got, I think from memory, is two single HIFs, did you not buy them as a matching pair? What's it for, what did the ones you took off look like, any connecting rods for the throttle plates to re-use etc etc etc.

They were a pair off a Jag or so was told. I've had them a few years now. I have a 71 tvr with a tr6 engine. Twin hs6s in at the moment. Was going to use them for a up grade if possible.
Any help would be great.

The only Jag fitted with these particular carbs was the Series 3 XJ6 3.4 litre. The 4.2 was injected, but Jaguar decided to use carbs on the 3.4 engine when the rest of the world was using injection; this was as late as '86 incidentally!Any help would be great.

The pair you have will work with the correct linkages, but you'll have to change the needles as it will be far too rich with the Jag needles. If you do it correctly you should get a significant improvement in fuel consumption.
Use this chart to work out the correct needle size :- http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/suneedle/
Best of luck.
