Jaguar XF front suspension arms, something bent!
Discussion
Oh that's a shame! - normally it's "Dad lends car to Son and it comes back bent" lol!
Without being patronising, I would start by asking Dad, what he hit. It sounds as though the chassis leg has taken a hit. It's common for a "rabbit punch" to crease a chassis leg or front/rear panel and the bumper cover masks this by popping back into shape. This is obviously different to a wheel dropping into a pothole and bending the wishbone. Tracking wouldn't identify mis-alignment around the thrust line of the car, only left to right alignment.
The car need to be inspected by a reputable accident repair centre; from your description I would be looking for tell tale creases on the chassis legs crumple zone or perhaps back next to the bulkhead where the leg stitches in.
Chassis alignment first then suspension. Shouldn't be a big job with a mild tug with a dozer. HTH
I should have mentioned.I know that the road he was going down had alot of large potholes. And he cant remember anything inparticular that may have caused it, But says he did go into a few potholes. Having the 20's on the car has always made me dodge potholes, but i guess he didnt know any better.
The specialist had a look and couldnt see anything that was visually bent, and advised that it was one of the arms/wishbones. I know something needs replacing, but i dont want to just stab around in the dark spending money... Even though my father is paying for it!!

Don't take this the wrong way, but how on Earth could anyone not know they'd done this? It would have made a horrendous noise and the pothole would have had to be extremely deep, sharp edged and your dad doing a fair lick of speed to cause the damage you describe. The specialist had a look and couldnt see anything that was visually bent, and advised that it was one of the arms/wishbones. These are not weak or flimsy cars. If he's paying for it then it's maybe academic, but I very strongly suspect he either knows more than he's letting on or just shouldn't be driving. I would suggest you have the rest of the underbody checked for damage. It sounds like the car has been rallied down a gorge!
My XF has 20" wheels too and I've also abused an S-Type for the past 6~7 years which shares all the same mechanical components. I live in the country and our roads are not the best maintained but I have never so much as buckled a wheel, let along mangled the suspension and ripped the bumper off its mounts.
