A friend has an ageing Jaguar XK100 (black/anthracite) with a shade under 100k miles on the clock and pretty sure he is the only owner since new and it will have FSH. I don't know the precise year of manufacture (private plate) but reckon it's around 1998.
It's in pretty good condition but starting to deteriorate as it's sat on his drive unused for much of the time and is getting damp inside so door seals may be perishing. Has anyone an idea of value and whether it's worth making an offer to get it back into tip-top condition? Is it likely to be a future collectible foe example? Thoughts appreciated.

Convertible or Coupe ? These are at the bottom of the depreciation curve and won't actually lose value but they will take a few more years before they start going up. Early XK8s can be had in a usable form from about £2.5K, 8 Convertibles from £5K, about the same for an R coupe and from about £7 for convertible Rs. They can be prone to rust in the footwells (easy fix) rear wings at the bottom of the boot and around the wheel arches. More expensive is rust behind the plastic covers in the front wheel arches behind the front struts. A car in good/average condition is worth saving, if not they are good donors frown

Thanks for the info. This is the XKR 100 Coupe, not the more desirable (IMO) convertible.

Ahhh, my first Jag. They came out in 2001 if it is a proper XK100. Anthracite with black interior, 20' Montreal Alloys, Birds eye maple veneer & fully loaded.

Prob be around £5-8k, but if deteriorating save her!
